The name
AMA AMI (ah-mah - ai-mee) or "Sweet Amy" is wordplay on the founder's favorite sushi:
ama ebi or sweet shrimp
. A name that perfectly describes this company to which it offers both sushi and desserts. Before Zach and Amy met, he ran underground sushi supper clubs while she worked at a café. Once they joined forces, both of their goals fused into what Ama Ami is today.
